Bastien kissed Alice deeply, wrapping his arms tightly around her.

“I’ve wanted to be alone with you,” he murmured, his lips brushing against her jaw. He thought of watching her from across the ballroom as she twirled across the dance floor.

“Now that you’ve got me alone, what do you want me to do?” Alice asked as she began to undo the buttons of his shirt. He took a step back from her and surveyed her from head to toe.

“Take off your clothes.”

Alice smirked and took a couple steps backwards towards her bed. She paused and reached behind her, slowly pulling down the zipper of her dress. She turned her back to him as she let the gown fall to the floor, puddling around her feet. Bastien watched her intently, shrugging his jacket off of his shoulders and dropping to his floor. He began to unbutton his shirt as he watched Alice unhook her bra and casually toss it away. Bastien bit his lip as he watched her remove her panties, bending over sensually to slide them down her thighs.

“What else?” Alice asked over her shoulder.

“Get on the bed.”

Bastien kicked off his shoes and unbuckled his belt while he watched Alice walk slowly over to the bed. She stretched out on her back atop the lush blankets, waiting for him. He wanted to run across the room to her, let his primal instincts take over. Instead, he forced himself to walk slowly to the bed, taking his time. After he reached the bed, Bastien pulled a few condoms out of his pocket, tossing them on the bedside table, before he took off his pants and lay down beside her.

“You’re wearing too many clothes,” Alice said softly, running her hand down Bastien’s front, fingers skipping over his hardened muscles. She could feel his erection through his boxer briefs but before she could slip her fingers inside, Bastien caught her hand.

“In a minute,” Bastien said with a grin. He kissed her again as his fingers traced over her hardened nipples, his light touch making her shiver. “Open your legs,” he murmured in her ear.

Alice obediently opened her legs and Bastien kissed her as he slid his hand up her inner thigh. She moaned against his mouth as his fingertips brushed her folds, already wet with anticipation.

“Do you want me to touch you?” he asked. She nodded, sliding her hand down the length of his arm to his hand, urging him forward. Bastien teased her lips with his fingers before slowly sliding one finger into her, then another. Alice moaned, biting at his lip as they kissed. He started to slowly pump his fingers in and out of her, curving them slightly. He paid close attention each time her breath caught, following her lead and trying to memorize everything about her body.

Before long, Alice’s hips started to buck against his hand, her voice growing louder. Bastien kissed her as she came, his skillful fingers pushing her further and further as his mouth muffled her orgasmic cries. When she finally couldn’t take anymore, Bastien removed his fingers from her and brought them to his mouth, sucking one clean, then the other.

“Now,” Alice begged, yanking down his boxer briefs. Bastien rolled over and grabbed a condom from the nightstand. Alice shakily climbed to her knees, straddling him as he rolled on the condom. When he was done, she wasted no time in guiding him inside, sinking down onto him. Bastien gripped her hips as they moved together, her fingernails digging into his chest. He took his time, keeping her pace slow. Finally, he slid a hand forward to her clit, circling the sensitive bundle of nerves as he urged her closer to another climax.

“Bastien!” Alice gasped, “I–”

He suddenly flipped her over onto her back, lifting one of her legs over his shoulder as he pounded into her. Alice came and Bastien clapped a hand over her mouth to muffle the noise. She bit his hand to hold back her screams and he reveled in the pleasure and pain of her as he came, thrusting hard.

Bastien slid his hand away from her mouth to cup her face, leaning down to kiss her gently. Her skin was salty with sweat but her mouth was sweet, intoxicating.

“You have to be quieter, Gray,” he warned her, still breathless.

“I thought you liked it when I screamed, Dorian,” she teased, wrapping her arms around him.

“I do,” Bastien said, his voice gruff with desire as he momentarily buried his face in her neck. “But there are eyes and ears everywhere in the palace. We have to be discreet.”

“Aren’t you the eyes and ears in the palace?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. Bastien lightly smacked her on the ass and she laughed.

“I am, but I’m not the only one,” he said.

“Alright, alright,” Alice said with exaggerated resignation. “I suppose I can keep it down. But in my defence, it’d be a lot easier if you were less sexy…”

Later, as they lay in bed together, Alice revealed her plan for her time in Cordonia: nudge Liam towards another suitor, impress the media to help the Beaumonts, and spend as much time with Bastien as possible.

“So you’ve got it all figured out, huh?” Bastien asked as his fingers traced lazy paths up and down the bare skin of her back while her head rested against his chest. “What happens when people behave like people and don’t go along with your plan?”

“I can’t think about that right now,” Alice said. She propped her chin up so she could look Bastien in the face. “But I think it’s the best plan considering the circumstances.”

Bastien smiled and leaned in to kiss her gently. “I’ll do what I can to help you. The press will love you as long as you don’t yell at them like they’re drunk girls in a bar.”

“No promises.”

“And, of course, I want to see you as much as I can,” Bastien said. “No matter the circumstances. However,” he continued, “I think you’re going to have trouble urging Liam towards another suitor.”

“Are you serious?” Alice asked. “I’m a bartender–I act as wingwoman to everyone. That’s going to be the easier part.”

Bastien smiled, but his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes this time. “I don’t know. I’ve seen the way Liam looks at you.”

“And what way is that?”

“He looks at you the way I look at you.”

Alice propped herself up on her elbow to look him in the eye. “Just remember that I’m only looking at you, Dorian.”

He kissed her and they faded into one another.
